MONTENEGRO – The Senior Women’s “B” Team dropped their first game of their exhibition summer schedule today, 75-58, to Montenegro.

The Canadian team was led by Justine Colley (East Preston, NS), who scored 12 points in the game, while Korrissa Williams (Amherstburg, ON) chipped in with 10 points and 3 steals.

“Overall, we are very pleased with the effort considering this is our first game as a team,” said head coach, Fabian McKenzie. “There were lots of good signs at each end of the floor, but we need to build more consistency at both ends of the court. We had a weak first half but turned that around to a strong second half.”

“We played hard and we did lots of things well, but we also see lots of things we can improve on,” said Canadian forward, Taryn Wicijowski (Regina, SK). “We have the next four games to try to improve and get better.”

This was the first of two games that Canada will play against Montenegro, before they play three games against Belgium May 25 –27. The next game against Montenegro will take place on Sunday.
