Development Women's National Team Beats the Czech Republic in Exhibition Action

Toronto, ON - The Development Women's National Team rallied off their fifth victory amidst their China exhibition tour today, defeating the Czech Republic 72-63. The team is now 5-1.

Head Coach Fabian McKenzie (Glace Bay, NS) remarked after the game: "Great win to finish our tournament. Today was the best offensive execution we have seen so far. We challenged the team to step up at half time and play better defensively and they responded very well. (The coaching staff are) Very pleased with the effort today.

Forward,Wumi Agunbiade added: "We faced some adversity with our fives getting into foul trouble and we were forced to play with smaller lineups. We used that to our advantage and upped the tempo allowing us to get easy transition baskets. Heading into FISU, I'm feeling very confident knowing that we have the ability to play through adversity and win basketball games!"
