Development Women's National Team Bests China in Second Game of Exhibition Play, 94-56

TORONTO, ON – The Development Women’s National Team won their second game in a row, beating China in China, 94-56.

"Tonight we displayed tremendous intensity for 40 minutes. We played with a relentless spirit. I was impressed by our attacking mentality; it helped us to create a lot of good offensive opportunities,” said Head Coach Fabian McKenzie.

Canada’s big victory was led by Shay Colley, who scored 21 points on 7-12 shooting. Colley grabbed eight rebounds as well. Adut Bulgak scored 19 points on 8-10 shooting with five rebounds. For full box score, click here.

The Development Women’s National Team showed off their skill on both ends of the court, scoring 27 and 29 points in the first and second quarters, respectively. In the second half, Canada held China to four points in the third quarter and 12 in the fourth. The 94-56 victory marks Canada’s second large margin of victory in a row.

"We played tough tonight. They were physical and the highlight for me was when they tried to make a come-back and we pushed harder. We started to move the ball well and to create space for each other on offense. We played selflessly,” said Adut Bulgak.

Tomorrow, Canada will regroup and take on Brazil in their third game of the exhibition tournament.
