Canada Day 2012 will always be a special date for us at Canada Basketball:  that’s the day our Senior Women’s National Team secured a berth at the London Olympic Games. Canada Basketball - What is your favorite Olympic memory?

Tamara Tatham - My favorite Olympic moment was hearing the buzzer sound at the end of the forth quarter in the Japan game...at that moment I became an Olympian.

CB - Which team are you most looking forward to playing against in London?

TT - The team I look forward to playing the most is France. I think we have had our fair share of close games with them and I know it's a matter of time before we will

be the ones that come out on top. It would be great to get that done at the Olympics

CB - What do you think the biggest challenge will be for you and the team at these games?

TT - I think the biggest challenge is to be one of the top teams in our pool. Our pool is very tough but we are just as talented and ready as any other team we will beup against. No one goes into a game hoping or thinking they will lose.  So our challenge will just have to be to win the day! Every day possible!

CB - Do you have any pregame rituals? What are they?

TT - I like to do a little imagery before the game as well as listen to music. I do have a special playlist that I have drummed up for the summer! These rituals get me into game mode and help me focus on the task at hand!!

CB - Who is the teammate that you are most excited to see take the floor for the first Olympic game?  Why?

TT - I am most excited to see my sister take the floor. It's an amazing experience to get the opportunity to do this with her and I know how hard she has worked to be where she is today! It will be a very proud moment.

CB - What advice would you give to young athletes who are pursuing an Olympic dream?

TT - Stay focused! This process takes 4 years and you have to work at it everyday for 4 years.  We put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to this point and all of

our hard work has paid off. Remember to always dream big and dreams can and do come true!

CB - Tell us something special or unique about yourself that we might not know.

TT - Something people may not know about me is that I have a life long plan to appear on the show Big Brother!!! I absolutely love that show and I think I would be a perfect candidate (later in life of course). I'm also a great cook! With so much time on my hands during the year overseas how can I not be! Plus it runs in the family:)
