TORONTO (Mar. 11, 2025) - A.J. Lawson and Emily Potter have been named the Players of the Week for Mar. 10-16.
Lawson, a two-way player for his hometown Toronto Raptors, is coming off an impressive week. The product of Brampton, Ont. averaged 22 points, eight rebounds, and three assists over the week, including a win over the Washington Wizards where he posted a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds off the bench. Prior to the Raptors, Lawson spent time with the Long Island Nets in the G League where he averaged 24 points, six rebounds, and two assists across 11 games. Lawson last represented Canada at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Qualifiers in 2021.
Potter delivered in a big way for Crvena Zvezda in the Swiss Women’s Basketball League, recording a commanding double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds, along with two assists while shooting 53.8% from the field. Earlier this month, the Winnipeg, Man. native led her team to Serbian Cup glory, contributing another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Potter last suited up for Canada with the Senior Women’s National Team in Victoria this past summer as part of their Olympic training camp roster in an exhibition game against Portugal.
