Lines of the Week: Canadians in the NCAA

Jan 18, 2013

Strong stat-lines in the NCAA highlight the second week of CB's 90th.

Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (Toronto, ON) – Simon Fraser, Sr.

Nayo had a great game (14 points, 21 boards, 3 dimes, 4 steals, 2 blocks), but it was not enough to push the Clan past Western Washington. Still, the Toronto native continues her record-setting season.

Melvin Ejim (Toronto, ON) – Iowa State, Jr.

The Cyclones pulled through for a tight 69-67 win over the Mountaineers as Ejim tied his season-high in rebounds with 13. The forward from Toronto also led Iowa State with 16 points.

Kayla Alexander (Milton, ON) – Syracuse, Sr.

The Orange would be having a tougher time this season if Kayla wasn't putting up such strong numbers. The senior's 24 points, 17 rebounds (8 offensive), 2 steals and 4 blocks led her side to a narrow 84-80 win.

Anthony Bennett (Brampton, ON) – Las Vegas, Fr.

The Runnin' Rebels won again after a solid effort from Anthony. The freshman from Brampton hit 2 threes en route to 22 points while grabbing 16 rebounds - 9 of them on the offensive glass.

Micaella Riche (Gloucester, ON) – Minnesota, Jr.

Micaella came up big for the Gophers in a tough test against the Buckeyes. The Gloucester, ON native put up 20 points, 8 rebounds, a dime and a steal in Minnesota's victory.

Kelly Olynyk (Kamloops, B.C.) – Gonzaga, Jr.

Kelly's line of 21PTS, 8REB, 1STL and 2BLK this week is nothing special for the season. The Kamloops native's efficiency is what puts him on this week's list. Olynyk shot 8/9...and put up these numbers in only 19 mins.
