The game of basketball was invented by Canadian Dr. James Naismith in 1891. In the 122 years since its inception, many individuals have have carried the sport to amazing heights and many teams have brought it to international prominence.

One of those individuals was the generous Gerry Livingston and one of those teams was the Smith Falls, Ontario native's Tillsonburg Livingstons.

The impact of the Livvies can still be felt today  –  61 years after that team took home the national championship and earned the right to take on the world at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, Finland.
