Luguentz Dort and Michelle Plouffe Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week for November 8-14.

Luguentz Dort and Michelle Plouffe have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for the week of November 8-14.

Dort had three straight 20+ point games this past week for the first time in his career, averaging 23 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal over three games in the week leading the Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA), who went 2-1. The 6’3” guard also had a game winning steal and layup against the Kings on November 12. The Montreal native spent one year with the Arizona State Sun Devils where he was named Pac-12 Conference Freshman of the Year and earned second-team All-Pac-12 Conference honours. Dort signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder following the 2019 NBA Draft and most recently played for Team Canada this past summer at the Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2020 in Victoria, BC. 

Plouffe led the 3x3 Women’s National Team to a bronze medal finish at the inaugural FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2021 in Miami, FL and was second in the tournament in scoring. Plouffe played college ball at the University of Utah (NCAA) where in her rookie year, she led all freshmen in the conference in scoring and was named MWC Freshman of the Year. In the 2014 WNBA draft, the Edmonton native was selected in the second round, 19th overall by the Seattle Storm. Soon after, the 6’4” forward began her professional career with Lyon ASVEL Feminin (LFB) in France. Plouffe has most notably repped the maple leaf at the 2015 Pan American Games and the 2017 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, where her team took home the gold at both events. Plouffe has also represented Canada at both the 2012 (London) and 2016 (Rio) Olympic Games and has most recently taken her talents to the 3x3 Canadian National Team.
