TORONTO – The media accreditation process for Window 1 of the FIBA Men’s World Cup 2027 Qualifiers is now officially open.
Canada will host the Bahamas on Monday, December 1, 2025 (7:10 p.m. ET) at Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto — the team’s first home game of the FIBA Men's World Cup 2027 Qualifiers. The game will be broadcast nationally on TSN.
The deadline to apply is Sunday, November 23 (5:59 p.m. ET). Click here to apply for accreditation.
Canada enters this qualification cycle on the heels of its most successful FIBA Men’s World Cup in program history, finishing third overall in 2023 after defeating the United States in the bronze medal game in Manila. Dillon Brooks was named the tournament’s Best Defensive Player, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earned selection to the FIBA World Cup All-Star Five.
The FIBA Men's World Cup 2027 Qualifiers mark the beginning of Canada’s journey toward the next World Cup, set to be held in Qatar in 2027. The qualification format remains unchanged from the previous cycle, featuring six windows over a 15-month period across the four FIBA regions: Africa, Americas, Asia (including Oceania), and Europe.
