ST.CATHARINES, Ont. – Both the boys and girls basketball tournament kicked off Monday at the 2022 Canada Games.
Team Alberta made a big statement in Pool C with a 107-36 victory over the Yukon. Alberta’s Bubu Benjamin put on a dunk exhibition in the victory, putting together a number of highlight-reel jams, including a breakaway windmill slam in the first quarter as Alberta jumped ahead to a 19-0 run.

Lastly, in Pool B, seven-foot-six centre and his Team Quebec squad topped Team Saskatchewan 115-76 and Team Ontario got off to a winning start with an 87-77 victory over New Brunswick, however an Ontario player appeared to sprain an ankle and left the game hobbling, but under his own power and didn’t return..
