Event: 2014 15U/17U National Championships / 16U Western Canadian Championships

When: July 25 - 30, 2014

Where: Saville Community Sports Centre, Edmonton, AB

The spotlight continues to brighten on Canadian basketball talent as new sanctions will allow the 2014 15U/17U National Championships and the 16U Western Canadian Championships to be scouted by both NCAA and CIS affiliates. The sanctions will allow team personnel from across North America an unprecedented look at Canada’s rising stars, continuing a tradition of Canadian excellence from the youth to collegiate level and beyond.

Edmonton, Alberta will play host to all six tournaments - three age brackets each for men and women - in what is sure to be one of the most highly-scouted events of the summer. The action tips off July 25-30 at the Saville Community Sports Centre.

Throughout its history, the tournaments have fielded a veritable who’s-who of both established and emerging Canadian talent, from NBA icon Steve Nash (Victoria, BC), to the WNBA’s 2014 ninth-overall draft selection Natalie Achonwa (Guelph, ON), to highly-projected NCAA phenom Andrew Wiggins (Vaughan, ON).

Long before the athletes will dream about Olympic podium aspirations, the next generation of young Canadian basketball players will earn their first taste of the big stage at the 17U and 15U National Championships.
