Dwight Powell (Toronto, ON)- Sr. Forward, Stanford Cardinal

Toronto native Dwight Powell recorded a double double in a victory over the Washington Huskies Saturday night. In 36 minutes of action, Powell posted 17 points and 10 rebounds, going 11-15 from the charity stripe and helping the Cardinal achieve 3-2 record against Pac-12 opponents.  Katherine Plouffe (Edmonton, AB) Sr. Forward, Marquette Golden Eagles

Katherine Plouffe -the Big East Conference scoring leader- had 2 noteworthy performances over the past week.  After posting a double-double (18 pts and 11 rebs) in a hard-fought loss against St-John’s, the senior forward followed up with another stellar outing last night. In an 87-79 win versus Providence, Plouffe recorded 23 points and 5 assists. Plouffe currently averages 19 points and 11 rebounds. The Golden Eagles’ next game is this Saturday versus Creighton.

 Nik Stauskas (Mississauga,ON) Soph. Guard, Michigan Wolverines

Nik Stauskas is the Big Ten Player of the Week in the NCAA. In his last game, Stauskas buried a dagger in the final seconds of a big upset win against Wisconsin. The Mississauga, ON native stole the show that night posting 23 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and a block in the 72-70 win. Stauskas averages 18 points and 4 rebounds.  Emily Potter (Winnepeg, MB) Freshman Forward, Utah Utes

Over the weekend, Emily Potter had herself two double-doubles for the Utah Utes. On Friday, versus Washington, Potter had 10 points and 14 rebounds. Then on Sunday, she managed 17 points and 10 boards. Potter currently averages 12 points and 7 rebounds. The Utes take on Arizona State next in Friday night in NCAA action.

 Tyler Ennis (Brampton, ON) Freshman Point Guard, Syracuse Orange

Tyler Ennis is the ACC rookie of the week for the third time this season. After leading the Orange to two gritty wins, the freshman guard is now turning heads in the NCAA. In the most recent win, Ennis posted 16 points, 3 assists, 2 boards and one steal. Ennis took over in the final moments, scoring the final 6 points for the Orange and securing the victory.  Nirra Fields (Montreal, QC) Soph. Guard, UCLA Bruins

Nirra Fields of Montreal, QC helped UCLA beat out the Oregon St. Beavers by a score of 66-63 on Monday night. Fields had a game to remember- posting 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and one assist. Other notable Canadian performances from this game included Ruth Hamblin (19pts) & Jamie Weisner (12 rebs). Don’t miss Fields and the Bruins as they take on Stanford on Friday night.

 Olivier Hanlan (Aylmer, QC) Soph. Guard, Boston College Eagles

Aylmer, QC native Olivier Hanlan had two great games this week. On Saturday versus North Carolina, the sophomore guard posted 16 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds and one block. In an equally impressive game, Hanlan had 19 points, 2 assists, one rebound and one assist against Georgia Tech last night. He is currently averaging 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Boston College’s next opponent is Virginia Tech when they face off tonight at 7pm.
