Kevin Pangos (Holland Landing, Ontario) Senior Point Guard – Gonzaga Bulldogs

Kevin has been an integral piece of the Gonzaga Bulldogs season thus far. The senior has displayed his growth and poise as a player by leading Gonzaga to two 12-point victories earlier this week over San Diego and Portland, respectively. Throughout those two games, Pangos averaged 15.5 PPG, 4.5 APG and 4.5 RPG to go along with a 56% field-goal percentage - shooting 57% from behind the arc. His standout performance came against Portland where he netted 21 points to go along with 5 assists, 3 rebounds and a steal. Kevin and the 6th-seeded Bulldogs face San Francisco on Thursday this week.

Olivier Hanlan (Aylmer, Quebec) Junior Shooting Guard – Boston College Eagles

The Aylmer native, Hanlan, had a solid past week against fierce competition in UMASS Lowell and Duke. The Eagles finished the week at 1-1 with a tough loss to Duke on the road, but the junior shooting guard shined bright. Olivier averaged 16.0 PPG, 3.5 APG, 3.0 RPG and 1.5 SPG; most notably notching 22 points against Duke – a team-high. Hanlan looks to build off his strong preseason and lead his team to a strong record against ACC opponents.

Dyshawn Pierre (Whitby, Ontario) Junior Forward – Dayton Flyers

Dyshawn and the Flyers are building off their Cinderella run last March and are off to a hot start this season - owning a record of 11-2 (2-0 this past week). Dyshawn lead Dayton to victories over Ole Miss and Duquesne while averaging 16.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG and 3.0 APG. Pierre’s dynamic showing of 17 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists against Ole Miss this past week made the difference for the Flyers as they narrowly escaped with a victory - 78-74. The Flyers look to continue their ramped pace against St. Bonaventure on Thursday night.

Nirra Fields (Montreal, Quebec) Junior Guard – UCLA Bruins

Nirra Fields is coming into her own as a junior at UCLA. This past week showed just that as she averaged 15.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 1.5 SPG to lead the Bruins into conference play. UCLA split their two games this week – beating USC, but falling short to Oregon State, although Fields was a bright spot in both contests. Fields had a game-high 20 points against the Beavers in a losing effort and also grabbed 4 rebounds along with a steal. Nirra looks to continue her steady play Friday night as the Bruins take on the Utah Utes in Salt Lake City.

Kia Nurse (Hamilton, Ontario) Freshman Guard – UCONN Huskies

The Hamilton native, Kia, has quickly grown accustom to the college game in the NCAA. This past week Nurse and UCONN won three consecutive games (beating Duke, East Carolina and St. John’s) while Kia averaged 9.6 PPG, 2.6 APG and 2.3 SPG throughout those games. The Phenom Freshman shined the brightest against rival Duke – scoring 11 points while dishing out 4 assists and snagging 5 steal in a resounding 83-52 win. Kia and the Huskies have a tough week ahead of them as they play Tulsa and SMU to attempt to continue their 11-game win streak.

Ruth Hamblin (Houston, British Columbia) Junior Center – Oregon State Beavers

Ruth has played a big role on her Oregon State Beavers team as she continues to execute on the court. This past week against UCLA and USC she was able to average 11.5 PPG, 9.0 RPG and 2.5 BPG in two Oregon State victories. Her standout game came against UCLA where she grabbed 13 rebounds, scored 7 points and blocked 3 shots during a 65-47 win over UCLA. Hamblin hopes to continue her consistent play into the Beavers’ next game against state-rival Oregon on Friday night.
