Canada Women’s 3x3 Team first to record two victories in Paris:

The Canadian Women’s 3x3 squad dominated No. 1 seed China 21-11 in their second consecutive victory on Tuesday to move to 2-0 in group play. Paige Crozon and Michelle Plouffe scored seven points apiece while the Canadian defence helped to force China into 10 turnovers in just 8:16 minutes. Canada has now recorded the top two fastest victories in Paris and were the first team to reach two victories in group play. Canada is also ranked first in points per game (21.5) as well as three-pointers made (9). The Canadians will hit the court twice on Thursday as they continue pool play, beginning with an early game against Germany (1-1), and then closing out the day against the host-team France (0-2).

Canada Senior Women’s Team take on Australia:

The Canadian Senior Women are looking to pick up their first win in Paris after falling to France 75-54 in their Olympics opener against the host-team in front of a packed arena . Though Canada started well against France, they were undone by an extended scoring drought in the second quarter as France opened an 18-point lead by the half. Canada finished even with France outside of the second quarter and are looking forward to getting back on the court. They seek a victory against a No. 3 ranked Australia team that they defeated 77-74 in a pre-Olympics exhibition game a week ago. “You gotta let it go and go to the next one,” Team Canada veteran Kia Nurse said of Monday’s loss. “You got to have the optimism and the confidence to go in and win both of those games [that are coming up] and just deal with what comes with that. For us, it’s just getting the next one under our belt.” Look for Canada to try to limit their turnovers after racking up 25 miscues against France. “Every possession counts,” Shay Colley said. “We need to really take care of the ball. We have to box out and rebound, and again, just play together on the offensive side of the ball.”
