Canada Riding Momentum

Canada enters this final qualifying window on a high, having gone unbeaten in November’s competition. The team posted an 88-71 win over the Dominican Republic and an 83-73 victory against Mexico. Mfiondu Kabengele led the way against the Dominican Republic with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Trae Bell-Haynes paced Canada against Mexico, finishing with 20 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals. Canada remains the only undefeated team in Group C.

The 14 in Red

Canada’s roster features a blend of returning talent and fresh faces. Bell-Haynes and Kabengele remain in the lineup alongside returning players Marcus Carr, Jahvon Henry-Blair, Aaron Best, Quincy Guerrier, Lloyd Pandi, and Thomas Kennedy. Veteran guard Phil Scrubb brings experience to the backcourt, while newcomers Jaden Bediako, Jaden Campbell, Koby McEwen, Isiaha Mike, and Prince Oduro round out the training camp roster.

Qualification Scenarios

With Nicaragua already guaranteed a spot as the tournament’s host nation, the top two remaining teams in Group C will qualify. Canada can clinch qualification with a win over the Dominican Republic on Friday night. If Canada falls to the Dominican Republic, they can still secure their place if Nicaragua defeats Mexico. A victory against Mexico on Monday would also guarantee Canada’s place in the tournament.
