Tournament Overview

FIBA’s newest 3x3 competition showcases the world's top 16 3x3 basketball teams, featuring continental cup champions, top-ranked teams in the FIBA 3x3 rankings, Olympic gold medalists, and the host nation, representing 12 countries in total. Canada secured their spot in the tournament with their AmeriCup gold medal victory in San Juan, Puerto Rico this past December.

The Champions Cup marks the start of the 2025 3x3 calendar, with the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia this June serving as its marquee highlight.

The Golden Four

The inaugural tournament sees the return of Kacie Bosch, Paige Crozon, Saicha Grant-Allen and Katherine Plouffe, all of whom were part of the gold-medal winning team at the 2024 FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup. After posting two big wins over Cuba and Brazil, the squad secured the gold medal in a nail-biting overtime win against the United States thanks to a buzzer-beater game-winner from Plouffe. The group now looks to carry that momentum forward and make history as the first-ever FIBA Champions Cup winners.

Road to the Podium

Canada enters the tournament as the fifth seed, placing them in a strong position as they head into group play. Their pool (A) includes China, Germany and Madagascar, while France, Spain, Australia and Thailand make up Pool B. With a solid ranking and a well-balanced roster, Canada will aim to dominate in the round robin and secure a spot in the semifinals, setting the stage for a potential repeated podium finish.
