TORONTO (August 12, 2025) — Canada Basketball announced Monday the 14 athletes invited to attend the Senior Men’s National Team training camp in Toronto ahead of the upcoming FIBA Men’s AmeriCup 2025 in Managua, Nicaragua.
The team will train at the OVO Athletic Centre from August 12–17 before travelling to Miami, Fla., for a series of exhibition games against the United States. Canada will then head to Managua, where the AmeriCup will take place August 22–31. The final roster for the tournament will be announced prior to the start of competition.
Canada finished fourth at the 2022 FIBA Men’s AmeriCup in Recife, Brazil, and will look to build on recent program success, including a historic bronze medal at the FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup 2023 and a return to the Olympic Games in 2024 for the first time since Sydney 2000.
“This camp is an important step for our team, to prepare for the Americup and provide our athletes and coaches the opportunity to build cohesion as we start the LA2028 quad,” said Rowan Barrett, General Manager and Executive Vice-President, Men’s High Performance. “With a mix of youth and experience in this group, we are excited to compete for Canada in Nicaragua.”
