Trae Bell-Haynes and Kia Nurse have been selected as the Toyota Players of the Week for May 24-30.

Bell-Haynes, a point guard for Crailsheim Merlins of the German BBL, capped off an incredible season with a 32 point and 4 rebound performance in his team's quarter-final loss to Bayern Munich. The Toronto native was unstoppable, going 10 for 10 from the free throw line, while grabbing three steals in the loss. After spending four years at the University of Vermont (NCAA), Bell-Haynes has played professionally overseas in both Germany and Finland. Since then, the 25-year-old who played for the Milwaukee Bucks NBA G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, joined the Niagara River Lions in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) last year. Most recently, Bell-Haynes represented Canada during the first window of the FIBA AmeriCup 2022 Qualifiers and has accepted an invite to the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament training camp later this month.

Nurse started off the week leading the Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) to a win over the Dallas Wings by scoring 21 points and 3 assists.  The guard from Hamilton, ON attended the University of Connecticut Huskies (NCAA) where she was a two-time NCAA champion. In 2018, Nurse was drafted 10th overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft to the New York Liberty. In her second year with the league, she was named to the starting line up of the WNBA All-Star game, making her just the third Canadian to play in the All-Star game. Now playing for the Phoenix Mercury, Nurse has represented Team Canada in 104 games at various FIBA, Olympic and Pan American tournaments since 2011 and is gearing up for her second Olympic games with the Senior Women's National Team in Tokyo later this summer.
