TORONTO, ON -The U16 Men's National Team are heading to the gold medal game after defeating the Dominican Republic 95-49 in the semi-final round of the U16 FIBA Americas tournament in Bahia Blanca, Argentina.
"We had a job to do tonight and we did it. Now it's all about preparing for tomorrow night. We have a big challenge ahead of us tomorrow so we have to be focused, composed, and ready to compete for 40 minutes." said Head Coach David DeAveiro.
Rowan Barrett Jr. (Mississauga, ON) led Team Canada in scoring, dropping 17 points. Simisola Shittu (Burlington, ON) added a double-double, with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Dominican Republic's efforts were led by Alanzo Frink with 15 points. For a full box score, click here.
Canada will now take on either the USA or Argentina in the gold medal game tomorrow. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. EST. The game will be streamed on Youtube.com/FIBA.
