U17 Men's National Team Announced Ahead Of Fiba U17 Basketball World Cup 2018

TORONTO, ON (June 24, 2018) - Canada Basketball is pleased to announce the 12 athletes who will represent Canada at the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018 in Rosario and Santa Fe, Argentina from June 30 - July 8, 2018.

Head Coach Kirby Schepp (University of Manitoba) will be joined by assistants Michael Meeks (Canada Basketball), Dan Vanhooren (University of Calgary), and Jason Dawkins (Ontario Basketball).

Canada is in Group C and will face Montenegro, Egypt and New Zealand in the group phase of the tournament, tipping-off against Montenegro on June 30 at 2:15 PM ET. Click here for the full tournament schedule.

Following pre-competition training in Mexico City, the team will travel to Argentina for additional training from June 23-27 ahead of the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2018.

Last summer, Canada's U16 team earned a silver medal at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship 2017 in Formosa, Argentina.

Canada is currently ranked 2nd worldwide in the FIBA Youth Men Rankings.
