(Zaragoza, Spain) - Canada's U17 Women competed in their third game of an exhibition series in Zaragoza Spain with an impressive 68-52 victory over Argentina.

"We continued to build toward the World Championship today and competed hard while trying some new combinations," explained Head Coach Jodi Drum. "We showed our offensive versatility as many different players scored in different ways. The next two days will be valuable to rest our minds and bodies and get prepared for Nigeria."

The Canadians were led by Kyla Shand who had 12 points. It was a spread out scoring attack as seven players scored seven point or more.

The first quarter was neck and neck with the Canadians holding a slight edge 14-12. The next period saw the Canadians come out aggressively against the Argentinian defense resulting in a big run to end the half with a 14 point lead.

There was more of the same in the third quarter as Canada's defense was able to keep Argentina at bay while maintaining the 14 point advantage they had built up at the end of the first half.

Canada then put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter with strong three-point shooting and ball movement as the lead was pushed to 16 as the final bell sounded.

Canada's next game will take place Wednesday June 22 against Nigeria.
