When the Kentucky Wildcats knocked off Kansas Jayhawks last night, Kyle Wiltjer joined an exclusive list, he became the fifth Canadian to win a NCAA Men’s National Basketball Championship.

He joins; Mike Brkovich (Michigan State - 1979), Jamaal Magloire (Kentucky - 1998), Dave Thomas (Michigan State - 2000) and Denham Brown (UCONN – 2004) to accomplish this feat.

Kyle is expected to be back for his sophomore year and will be a key piece for the Kentucky team next year.

Coach John Calipari spoke about Kyle’s game, "Kyle may be one of the best shooters we've had come through here. He's a highly skilled, versatile big man who can play inside and shoot from the perimeter. If you leave him open, he's going to hit the shot. What really strikes me about Kyle is his work ethic and desire to get better. Kyle has embraced the challenge and wants to play against the best players in the country to get better and compete for a national title."

Kentucky will most likely lose most of their starters to the NBA Draft, but with a strong recruiting class expected to come in, the Wildcats look poised to make another run next season.
