15U WOMEN
Alberta 46 - Saskatchewan 56 (7th Place Game)
Saskatchewan used a shooting advantage (34%-24%) and a rebounding edge (43-35) to defeat a pesky Alberta team.
For Saskatchewan, it was Michaela Kleisinger (15, 4 steals), Josephine Epoch (13, 7 rebs), Zayn Dornstauder (6, 9 rebs).
Alberta was led by Laura Costello (11, 8 rebs), Chiso Ufondu (10, 9 rebs), Megan Tywoniuk (10).
New Brunswick 66 - Nova Scotia 70 (5th Place Game)
In the battle of Maritime neighbors, New Brunswick led for 3 periods but couldn’t finish NS off. Statistically NB had a slight edge except in 3-point scores where NS had a 6-3 advantage.
Scoring for Nova Scotia was Chelsea Provo (14) and Kelsay Rice (12, 5 rebs).
For New Brunswick, it was Courtney Bulman (19, 9rebs) and Molly Gulliver (10, 6 rebs).
British Columbia 58 - Ontario 47 (Bronze Medal Game)
British Columbia took over lead in the second half from Ontario who led at the break (26-21). British Columbia dominated the boards (45-30), had better shooting (32%-23%) and led in second chance points (11-4) and points in the paint (26-18).
For British Columbia, it was Nicole Vanderhelm (23, 6 rebs), Marissa Dheensaw (12, 10 rebs).
Ontario was led by Keyira Parkes (13), Nadezda Radonjic (8, 6 rebs).
Quebec 77 - Manitoba 56 (Gold Medal Game)
Manitoba was unable to re-capture the 2OT moxie from last night as the superior shooting (52%-36%), rebounding (37-24) and points in the paint (62-28) gave Quebec a leading edge.
Quebec was up 49-29 at the break and led throughout the game.
For Quebec, it was Tamara Furquhar (22, 6 rebs), Mael Giles (17, 7 rebs) and Frederique Beauchamp (12).
Manitoba was led by Kyanna Giles (13), Keylyn Filewich (6, 8 rebs).
17U WOMEN
Manitoba 36 - Alberta 69 (7th Place Game)
Alberta used a shooting advantage (48%-31%) lots of points in the paint to lead this game from start to finish.
For Alberta, it was Haylie Hinchey (12) and Kacie Bosch (9, 6 rebs), Paige Knull (6, 10 rebs).
Saskatchewan 70 - New Brunswick 52 (5th Place Game)
After recovering from a period 1 9-point deficit, NB led by 1 point at the half (27-26). Saskatchewan used their superior size to dominate inside (32-12 in the paint) and on the boards (45-36) led throughout the second half.
Saskatchewan was led by Charlotte Kot (17, 11 rebs), Shinelle Handzuik (16), Madelaine Humbert (10, 10 rebs).
For New Brunswick, it was Grace Wade (12, 6 rebs), Alysha Bulman (12).
British Columbia 69 - Quebec 38 (Bronze Medal Game)
With 40% shooting, including 5/9 in threes and a 36-10 edge in points from the paint, British Columbia led wire to wire to claim the bronze medal.
For British Columbia, it was Maya Olynyk (15, 10 rebs), Kiana Lalonde (11, 50% shooting) and Michelle Bos (10, 67% shooting).
Quebec was led by Fredericke Laflamme (9, 5 rebs).
Ontario 66 - Nova Scotia 48 (Gold Medal Game)
A dominant Ontario team on this day shot 55% from the field, had 42 points in the paint and 27 bench points as they led from wire to wire and controlled the tempo and the game.
For Ontario, it was Hilary Hanaka (17, 8 assists), Victoria Rampado (12, 9 rebs), Mikalah Mulrain (11, 11 rebs). Nova Scotia was led by Candace Smith (21), and Alexanda Berry (12, 8 rebs).
