Canada Basketball announced today the appointment of Bailey Williams to the position of Manager, Communications.

“I am excited that we are able to move Bailey into this role,” said Executive Director, Michele O’Keefe. “With the exceptional momentum and attention to Canadian basketball, Bailey’s skill set will be of great value in providing service to the media and implementing our communications strategy.”

Originally from Nova Scotia, Williams joined Canada Basketball in July 2013, where she worked with the Men’s High Performance team. In that role she established efficient lines of communication internally and within the basketball community.

A graduate from Mount Saint Vincent University with a Bachelor of Public Relations, Williams brings a blend of public and private sector experience in public relations and event management, including coordination of Nova Scotia’s provincial Olympic strategy for the 2010 games.

Her appointment comes on the heels of an exciting summer for Canada Basketball – a fifth-place finish for the women’s national team at the 2014 FIBA World Championships, Canada becoming the second most represented country in the NBA, and steady growth in national grassroots and coaching programs.

Williams will drive all communications for the organization, including media relations and digital communications. She can be reached at: bwilliams@basketball.ca
