Canada Basketball Superfan Send-Off tips-off in Toronto on July 6

TORONTO (June 3, 2024) – Canada Basketball fans! Get ready for an unforgettable afternoon of basketball as the Canada Basketball Superfan Send-Off comes to the Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport on Saturday, July 6, at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Canada Basketball has teamed up with Nav Bhatia, Global Community Ambassador of Canada Basketball and Toronto Raptors Superfan, to host an exciting celebration of our Canadian Senior Men’s, Senior Women’s, and 3x3 Women’s National Teams, who will compete later this summer against the best basketball nations in the world. Representatives from Wheelchair Basketball Canada, Canada Basketball alumni, special guests, and celebrities will also be in attendance.

Starting at just $24, tickets for the Canada Basketball Superfan Send-Off will be available for purchase this Wednesday, June 5, at 10:00 a.m. ET via superfansendoff.ca.

Senior National Team players will be divided into mixed teams and compete in a series of skills competitions to earn valuable challenge points for their team, including:

Team Relay: Players from each team will participate individually in a timed obstacle course that will test their dribbling, passing and shooting skills.

Passing Accuracy: Players from each team will have forty-five seconds to complete three passes into various ranged targets.

Shooting Challenge: Players from each team will compete together in this challenge. Each team will have 1:15 to knock down as many shots as possible from five different spots on the court. Each player on the team must attempt at least one shot, and consecutive shots cannot be taken from the same location.

3x3 Point Shootout: Players from each team will compete individually in this challenge. Players will have 1:10 to make as many shots from five different locations outside the arch. Each ball rack will hold four game balls and one “money” ball, worth two extra points each.

During half-time of the skills challenge, fans can cheer on some of Canada Basketball’s NextGen age-group stars as they take to the court for a mini-game.

Each team competing in the Canada Basketball Superfan Send-Off will represent a Canada Basketball community group. Following the event, each group will receive a grant through the UNIFIED Assist Program on behalf of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and the Canada Basketball Foundation to support their ongoing work in the basketball community across the country.

With a focus on community and a family-friendly atmosphere, the Canada Basketball Superfan Send-Off will offer activities and entertainment for fans of all ages. In addition to the on-court excitement, fans of all ages can get closer to their national team heroes with contests, giveaways, prizes, autograph sessions, and more, creating a memorable experience for everyone in attendance.
