With Canada 1-2 and Brazil 0-3, the winner of the game Friday will have a greater chance in qualifying into the quarter-finals in the Olympics.

With Canada and Brazil being a part of the same FIBA Zone (FIBA Americas), both nations know each other very well. In the past three years, Canada and Brazil have played each other three times with Brazil taking each game from Canada.

Brazil so far in the Olympics has had a tough start. They began the tournament with a 73-58 loss to France, followed up by a 69-59 loss to Russia and a loss to Australia 67-61.

Brazil’s key players are shooting guard Karla Costa who is averaging 15.3 points per game in the tournament and centre Erika Souza, who is averaging 14.3 points and 8 rebounds per game.

The game will be televised on Sportsnet and RDS. The game will also be available to watch online at ctvolympics.ca.
