Groups Drawn for Fiba Americas U16 Championship for Women
SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO, FIBA Americas – In the afternoon, the groups for the FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Women were drawn, the tournament will be played from the 19th to 23rd of June in Cancun, Mexico.
The draw was held at the headquarters of FIBA Americas in San Juan, Puerto Rico and the Athletic Director, Anibal Garcia was in charge.
The groups were set as follows:
Group A: United States, Brazil, Costa Rica, Argentina
Group B: Canada, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Mexico
The last FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Women was held in Merida, Yucatan in 2011 and awarded three passes to the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship, the teams of USA (Champions), Brazil and Canada, second and third place respectively.
