JUNIOR WOMEN'S NATIONAL TEAM TRY-OUT INVITEES ANNOUNCED

(Toronto, Ont.) – Canada Basketball has announced the invitees to tryout for the 2014 Junior Women’s National Team, beginning on July 18 at Durham College in Oshawa, Ont.

The team will compete in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship for Women in Colorado Springs, USA. The competition runs from August 6 to August 10.

Rich Chambers, head coach of the team, discussed what he is looking forward to and the team’s goals moving forward.

“The coaching staff has been in touch with the players monitoring their progress and everyone is extremely excited about the upcoming training camp. We have had an opportunity to work with many of the athletes at training camps in December and March and are confident we can put a very competitive team on the floor at the FIBA Americas Championships,” said Chambers.

“Our goal since December has been to qualify for next year's World Championships and all our efforts will be focused on that goal for the next six weeks.”

The full invitee list and coaching staff can be found below.
