Lines of the Week: Canadians in the NCAA

Canadian men and women continue to make their mark on the NCAA in this edition of Lines of the Week.

Michelle Plouffe (Edmonton, AB) – Utah, Jr.

With 21 points, 16 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals, Michelle was a force on Saturday night, though her Utah squad fell to Arizona by a score of 61-52.

Ben Millaud-Meunier (Montreal, QC) – Saint Francis, Fr.

In a 69-63 win over Fairleigh Dickinson, the 6-1 guard hit seven three-pointers and totalled 26 points. The former Vanier star also finished with four rebounds and three assists.

Nayo Raincock-Ekwunwe (Toronto, ON) – Simon Fraser, Sr.

With a whopping 21 points (on 75% shooting) and 21 rebounds, Nayo helped her team to a 61-55 win over Montana State on Saturday. Nine of the rebounds were on the offensive glass.

Olivier Hanlan (Aylmer, QC) – Boston College, Fr.

Hanlan scored 26 points and pulled down seven rebounds as his Eagles cooled off a hot Maryland team with a 69-58 victory on Tuesday. He also nailed three threes and grabbed two steals.

Kayla Alexander (Milton, ON) – Syracuse, Sr.

Kayla was a dominant defender in Syracuse's 80-39 win over Pittsburgh on Saturday, registering seven blocks to go with her 19 points and eight rebounds.

Khem Birch (Montreal, QC) – UNLV, So.

Both Khem and teammate Anthony Bennett showcased Canadian talent in Saturday's 72-70 win over San Diego State. Bennett had a big game, but Birch blocked five attempts, shot 5-6 from the field and 6-6 from the line, and finished with 16 points and seven boards.
