Canada Basketball is in search for a nickname for the Women’s National Team Program, therefore we thought in order to receive the best results we needed to get the fans involved.  What Canada Basketball is asking is to jot down your ideas for a nickname, give us a short explanation why you think your nickname is best and send it to: communications@basketball.ca.  

The contest will run until Friday, March 16 at noon. After the contest closes, we will review all entries and find the best 3 names. The contestants with these entries will receive a Canada Basketball prize pack. After selecting the best 3 names we will post them on Facebook and the voting will commence. The name with the most ‘likes’ will win the contest. You will be able to vote until Friday, March 23 at noon.

The SWNT will be playing China in three friendly games in the Greater Vancouver Area May 16-18. These games will be key for the team’s preparation for the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament later this summer.
