Trae Bell-Haynes, Sami Hill Named Toyota Canada Players of the Week
TORONTO, Ont. (October 9, 2024) – Trae Bell-Haynes and Sami Hill have been named the Toyota Canada Players of the Week for Sept 30 - Oct 6.
On October 5, the Araski AES team kicked off their season in the Liga Feminina with a match against Baxi Ferrol, ultimately falling short with a final score of 59-70. Notably, Hill stood out in the game, contributing 17 points and shooting 60% on 2FGP to the Araski AES. Hill last played for the Senior National Women’s Team in August 2024 during the Paris Olympics.
This past weekend, all eyes were on Bell-Haynes in Spain as he faced off against Real Madrid in Basket Zaragoza’s second game of the season. The Toronto native delivered an impressive performance scoring 21 points while also contributing three rebounds and four assists. Despite his great effort, the Zaragoza took a tough loss with the score of 101-95. Bell-Haynes last represented Canada on the Senior Men’s National Team in 2023 during the World Cup.
